how classes make you think......

this week on my big picture class we have been discovering the topic of journalling on our scrapbook pages....

its not something that i do very often, and certainly not in big chunks like i have this week, I have found it quite hard, but also fun and enjoyable and i have just discovered that my husband prefers my pages with journalling to without. he wouldn't like me telling you this but the one of elsie that I am about to show you made him cry lots when he got home from work. the power of words eh!!!

so here it is:

i think its clear to see the emphasis in this layout is the journalling, i wrote a letter to Elsie explaining about her birth, the shock we had, how I felt, and how i feel now. I tried to add the letter but blogger doesnt like it sorry x

and here is the second page i have done this week:

this shows lola in her pj's and the story being told is about our once struggle to get her to bed, which suddenly changed overnight. now she is brtilliant and has her own bed time routine.

i think ive said enough for now. have a fab day xxxxx

blushing bride :)

not now obviously but almost 3 years ago I married Paul.. and yep im still scrapping wedding pics!

i needed to share this one with you today as I designed it for the ribbon reel challenge for this fortnight, it features inspirational colours from the photo that was chosen, including pink, aqua and white/ivory... plau a very hard to miss lace flower.... I also got a bit of brown in there and some buttons and some other ribbons which are attached to a bit of hidden journalling.

I started off this page with a scrap lift of kirsty wisemans page in mind but couldn't find it when i looked and so did my own thing... quite like how it turned out.

thanks ladies for another fab challenge xxx

and now another page that I have completed today just because I really love it and I hope you wont mind me sharing......

doesnt she look cute!!!!

Sorry second post of the day!

More news, very sorry lol....

I am also in my second week of the mother load scrap class from big picture classes and this weeks topic was firstly about organisation.... Anyone who knows me will know that I am not too well organised, in the way of remembering important things, dates or times etc etc... But with things.... I am always organised. My DVD collection for example is in alphabetical order...and if this gets messed up i go crazy lolsame goes for my scrapping stash... My papers are sorted into mot only patterned and plains but in colours too.
My alphabets are sorted into batches depending on their size, style etc etc...my buttons are in colours sections, bit anal i know but at least i can put my hands straight on something when I need it!

Anyways... Let's say this weeks get organised task was easily achieved!

Then the focus for our picture was... What makes you happy.... Scrapping makes me happy but I don't wanna take more pictures of my scrapping space etc, so what also makes a proud mother happy? Her children! Especially when they are doing something hilarious... So when Lola came in the room with her lipstick on!!! ..... I had to take photos immediately lol

Here is the page I made with my 'what makes me happy' photo

Lovely lippy page

I also had to use something from my stash that I haven't seen in a while.... So I searched through old stuff and came across some chipboard shapes, so I painted them up and used them on my page as embellishments.

The inspiration for this page came from the ribbon reel challenge blog, there was a sketch to follow, which I did... And also we had to use ribbon, lace or twine....I went with the lace up in the top corner.

Thans for the challenge girls xxxxxx

Class in progress!

Hey hey! Am I one happy bunny today:)

Last night I taught my very first class outside of crop..... I was invited by Sara, the rangers leader, To go to their ranger session and teach the girls aged between 14 and 16, a bit of scrapbooking. Must admit i was extremely nervous before i went, and felt very queasy as I walked towards the church hall, but a promise is a promise and how could i let them down at the last minute.

I was very pleased to see saras smiley face as I approached the doors, she welcomed me in and immediately I relaxed. And then when I met the girls I chilled even more.

They were very easy going, nice, chatty lovely young ladies. I really enjoyed teaching them and listening to their very funny conversations. It took me back to the good old days lol.

They were all really good at listening and following the instructions and produced some fabulous pages. I didn't take individual pics but here is a group shot of them all hard at work.

The ranger girls

And here is the page I taught them.... Only theirs was titled 'this is me' with a black and White photo of themselves.

You're the reason

I just had the most amazing night, I got over some of my teaching fears, had a laugh and got some young girls interested in documenting their lives, can't think of anything better

Thanks girls xxxx

For Keilly's ribbon reel challenge blog

More busy, but loving it!

So it's been a busy old week. Kirsty Wisemans class kicked off and is absolutely amazing.... I would recommend it to anyone looking to try something new, experiment or for anyone who needs to get stuff off of their chest, as writing down everything about everything, good and bad is very good for the clearing out of cobwebs!!!

So this week I have managed to..... Do half of my 'me in my moleskine' journal. And I must say I'm loving it. Loving getting messy, enjoying the processes involved in making every page individual. And feeling happy about writing everything down that's in my head. I will finish that off at the crop on the weekend.

I have also started the mother load , big picture class.... To start that off we have to focus on why we scrapbook.... I started scrapping for my children, memories for them so that they can keep them forever, and it's why I still do it now. So that question was pretty easy for me to answer, we also had to do a scrapbook page to represent this and I have half finished this, pics to follow soon.

I also joined in on Keilly's blog, the ribbon reel challenge! This week was related to summer fruits and had a picture prompt. I chose to use the colours from the photo and used a picture of Elsie moo having her very first taste of food, banana custard. She actually loved ti altho you might not know this from her face lol. Thanks Keilly for another great challenge xxx

Oh... And I also designed a class kit to teach a group of ranger girls, look at me all tea berried! Let's hope they enjoy it x

Busy busy busy.....

Ok so it's been a while....

The 12 hour crop came and went with amazing success, the ladies were perfect as always... And sue came a very long way to visit us and play along too, was great fun. The class went really well and sold out, I even had to make up separate kits... So that one won't even make it to the class page I'm afraid as I have no stock of it left!

Ange won the challenge prize (again) well done babe.... And Sarah d came in close second, I hope they enjoyed their prizes of money to spend in the shop lol

Thanks as always to Ali and my mum for all their help and support over the run up to 12 hour. With the stuff that was going on I thought I'd have to cancel but we all pushed through the pain and carried it off as we always do. The food went down really well and we even managed to plan the menu for novembers 12 hour lol.... Something to look forward to!

Since then I've introduced a few new people to the craft which we all love... I hope they adore it as much as i do... That means more people to bore with it lol

Crop for July is already almost fully booked, 22 spaces have gone so far.... If you are coming and haven't let me know please do so xxxxx

So some more exciting news.... I have joined a few classes lately and they are all starting very soon... Firstly Kirsty Wisemans moleskin class... It's an art journal all about me, something else intersting for you all lol... She released the sneak peeks last night and it looks amazing, I can't wait to firstly get all my goodies through the post to drool over and secondly until Wednesday for the class to go live!

Then on Friday the other class that I have signed up for begins... This is the mother load over on big picture classes... It involves 2 months of training , I believe doing a layout a week.... Learning all about ourselves as scrappers, our personal style, our loves and hates... Leading up to a mammoth layout a day for the month of september! It's gonna be an exciting few months.

I have also signed up for kirstys next class which starts in July and for her real live class at paper arts in September... I'm such a lucky girl To have all these things planned.

On top of that it's holiday in a few weeks!!! Cannot wait and the kids are excited too...

Lots of things to look forward to, all contributing to keeping me a happy bunny.... Sometimes we need things to keep us going right? Maybe I've treated myself a bit too much but hey ho, I haven't in a long time.

I'm on my iPad at the mo and haven't worked out how to post pics from it yet so when I get n the pc i will update with some photos.

See you soon xxxxxxx
